Why Humanoids?

THE POTENTIAL

A human-shaped robot can bring automation into spaces designed for people. The value depends on the task, the robot and how well the two fit.

Apptronik official product imagery

Built for human environments

Hands, reach and mobility can help a robot use existing workstations. Teams still need training and a facility assessment.

More coverage for repetitive work

Extended operation can support demanding workflows, with charging, maintenance and intervention built into the plan.

Natural interaction, where supported

Speech and language features can make interaction easier. Confirm supported languages and task performance for each model.

Capacity that can grow

A validated pilot can become a larger deployment, subject to availability, integration effort and service capacity.

Adaptable to your workflow

Some platforms support new skills and integrations. Ask what is available today and what requires custom development.

Platform examples: Apollo 2 · Digit 5. Features vary by model and maturity. A specialized robot may be a better fit for a narrow task.

THE BUSINESS CASE

The ROI: measure productive work

A low monthly payment is only one part of the economics. Compare total cost with verified output and the labor or capacity value actually delivered.

ILLUSTRATIVE PAYMENT ONLY

$300 per month

This is an assumption, not an available offer. A $30,000 purchase and a $300 monthly payment are different scenarios; financing terms, down payment and residual value would need verification.

$300 ÷ 720 hours$0.42 per calendar hour30 days × 24 hours. Assumes every hour is usable; excludes all other costs.

At 160 productive hours per month, the same payment is $1.88 per productive hour before additional costs.

Humanoid Operating Cost (HOC)

Total monthly cost ÷ productive robot hours

Include the lease or allocated purchase cost, software, integration, energy, service, repairs and human supervision. Use hours of useful output, excluding charging, downtime and failed work.

Calculate the return

Monthly net benefit = verified monthly value − total monthly cost.

Payback months = upfront investment ÷ monthly net benefit, when net benefit is positive. Count upfront costs once, and avoid counting the same purchase again as a cash operating payment.

For a household, compare the full cost with useful time saved, convenience and the support the robot can reliably provide.

Planning framework only. Validate throughput, intervention, utilization and costs in a pilot. Human and robot hours are not automatically equivalent.
